Capital City Farm

A flourishing farm in the heart of Coalport

In a two-acre former rail yard on North Clinton Avenue in Trenton’s Coalport neighborhood, bright yellow sunflowers and red tomatoes grow and bees buzz around this new urban farm.

Established in 2015, Capital City Farm is now open for its second growing season. We invite the public to visit, participate in our volunteer and community days, and imagine a greener, healthier future with us.

We are open from 9 am to 3 pm from Tuesdays-Fridays in the summer. Volunteers are welcome on Thursdays from 9-12. We are also open the Second Saturday of the month from 10-2 for visitors and volunteers.

We vend our produce at Greenwood Avenue Farmers Market (Mondays 1-6 pm) and to select corner stores and restaurants in the City. We donate 30% of our produce.

This year, we are offering garden plots to Trenton residents who wish to grow for entrepreneurial or community purposes. Email us at capitalcityfarm@drgreenway.org if interested.

Capital City Farm received a Smart Growth Award from NJ Futures in June 2016. NJ Futures made a video introducing the farm.
